Energy Saving Tips

While 'Earth Hour', being observed as an event in its fourth year today Mar 27th with an aim to highlight the threat of climate change and World-famous landmarks including the Pyramids, the Eiffel Tower and Beijing's Forbidden City to go dark, with thousands of towns and cities in 125 countries promising to take part, here are some energy saving tips to practice in our routine:
  1. Use fan instead of air conditioner.
  2. Do not lower air-conditioning temperature more than 25 degree centigrade
  3. Be selective to buy appliances bearing labels on energy efficiency
  4. Use oly compact fluorescent lamps and avoid yellow lamps.
  5. Never overload a refrigerator, washer, mixer, grinder
  6. Always go for full loading in washer rather than two half loads
  7. Use lights to the room where you are
  8. Keep refrigerator clean and wrap the stuffs in it.
  9. Use plastic containers with 5 logo instead of stainless steel containers.
  10. Use iron efficiently.
  11. When television or computer is not in use, switch off instead going Stand by option.
  12. Use instant water heater.
