What is a fad diet?

A fad diet is simply a weight loss diet or the diet that promotes weight loss.

Some of the so named diets are cabbage soup diet, lemonade diet, Southbeach diet, Acai berry diet, 3 day diet, Negative calorie dit, Zone diet and so on. Most of them adapt it lose their weight but continue to have them even after weight loss as it becomes their favourable diet. But are they healthy for a long run? Recent investigations in Uk shows that such diet 'could lead to osteoporosis' as some of the rich sources of bone-strengthening calcium are neglected. The Food Standard Agency says adults should be able to get the 700 mg of calcium a day they need from a varied or balanced diet. So think wise ladies..
