Although timing varies widely, babies often begin teething by six months. The two bottom front teeth are usually the first to appear, followed by the top two front teeth (lower and upper central incisors).

Symptoms of teething include:
- drooling
- chewing on solid objects
- irritability or crankiness
- sore or tender gums
Teething can cause signs and symptoms in mouth and gums but not fever or diarrhoea.
Simple tips to comfort your baby to soothe sore gums:
- Rub your baby's gums
- Offer a teething ring
- Keep the teething ring cool: A cold washcloth or chilled teething ring can be given to soothe baby gums.Do not freeze the ring as extreme cold can be harmful.
- Try hard foods like peeled carrot or cucumber.
- Dry the drool: Keep a clean cloth to dry baby's chin and avoid skin rashes
- Consult doctor if baby becomes too much cranky.
