Raw materials for our life from food - Part 2

Written By Hamsi on October 1, 2010 | 2:03 PM

The part one of the study hints about the forms of carbohydrates which are available in the form of starch and fibre.

The part 2 now elaborates about the forms of proteins that exists in the form of Animal protein and  Vegetable protein.

  • Animal Protein: They contain all the essential amino acids the body needs to construct body tissues, hormones, enzymes, blood etc and to epair and regenerate cells.

    • Lack of protein causes fatigue, lack-lustre skin and hair and a weak immune system, with a lack of resistance to disease and infection. Anyhow excess animal protein leads,  to many disorders like bowel cancer, hyper - tension, diverticulosis and atherosclerosis.

    • Sources: - Meat, Fish, Eggs, All dairy products.

  • Vegetable Protein: These are also used in precisely the same way of animal protein, but few plant sources contain all the essential amino acids.

    • Sources:- All grains, Pulses, lentils, Nuts, Seeds, Sprouted seeds
